![]() Mediacom has never automatically taken payment and has assessed late fees against me that I've paid thinking I made mistakes setting it up. TL DR: Enrolled in auto-pay a couple years ago. I don't know if anyone else has had issues like this but I would love to know about it if so! I worry this shit billing practice is actually making Mediacom a profit (off late fees) from others too. I even called CapitalOne to ensure there were no restrictions on their end, and there wasn't! I have statements showing these late fees, and emails confirming my enrollment into the auto-pay system well enough before the late fees happened. I don't understand how that could be when the auto-pay credit card is the same one I've been making manual payments with the whole time!Īt this point I am annoyed, as it seems they are collecting late fees because their auto-bill pay system is complete horseshit. I called them and argued that everything was setup correctly, and they then tried to blame it on CapitalOne somehow restricting the auto-pay. And guess what happens? After a few cycles, they still are not taking my auto-pay as instructed. So I paid my late fee and re-enrolled into auto-pay again. ![]() At the time I brushed it off thinking I must of made a mistake when I initially entered my banking information. Well at one point after expecting my bill to be handled automatically and nothing happening I got slapped with a late fee. By now I've waited long enough of course. After enrolling they state you have to wait a couple cycles for the automatic bill payment to transact. Since enrolling I have had to manually login to my Mediacom account and select my saved MC and make the payment every month. I haven't however, ever had a payment automatically come from my MC. My account online shows I am enrolled in auto-pay. I even have emails confirming my enrollment into their bill-pay system with this card. I've had my MC listed as my auto-payment source for at least two years. ![]() Within the last couple years I enrolled into their auto bill-pay system so that my CapitalOne Mastercard (MC) would be used automatically each month to make the necessary statement payments. ![]() I've had service with Mediacom for about 5 years here in Iowa. In hopes that this helps others that may come searching for answers, I am detailing some recent, important events that occurred between me and Mediacom around their automatic bill payment system. ![]()
